On Monday night Fire Alarm received a call to assist two elderly residents on their way to spend the night with family due to a large amount of water in the home. Engine 1 responded and on arrival determined the rescue boats and more man power would be needed due to 3 ft of water in the street. The elderly residents were loaded into the boat and brought to dry land where family members were waiting. It was determined with the assistance of the board of health, that the whole neighborhood would have to be evacuated and utilities would need to be shut off. By the end of the night 12 people, 2 dogs, and a fish were evacuated from their homes by boat.
